Some days ago I randomly fell upon this song in YouTube

It happened while listening to my favorite Turkish songs (my new passion lately ..) and I was so overwhelmed with memories and emotions. I think this song could be the soundtrack of my childhood. I suddenly remembered all those long, school free, summer days, when me and my sister used to stay in and watch movies, one after the other. All kinds of movies, non-selective and non-stop.

Leon by Luc Besson is one my my favorites. I like all Besson's movies actually. 

Reno and young Portman's duet fills in your heart with love.

All these came to my mind with just one song from the past and then I thought about this full of hearts dress.

It is the story about how a simple dress can be brightened up and vibe out love.

You just take the dress in discount and in a fairly low price.

Then the inspiration comes from DMC's patterns.

And there you go! 

Of course, if you don't have the time to do the embroidery yourself, willingly offered help is always welcomed! Thanks to Riri (aka mom) it was ready in no time and in time for summer holidays.

Leaving winter behind

You can feel it in the air, summer is a step away.. the sun that warms up your bones feels so nice and awakens your lust for carefree summer holidays. 

Only a step away before winter will be long gone. 

The change of the weather inspires new looks, so I digged this out of my wardrobe. A long-ago creation but scarcely worn.

Full circle skirt, extra full as it has numerous small pleats. The fabric was given to me, among other things, from a friend that entrusted me her mom's things. It is pity that you rarely find nowadays such nice fabrics. It is polka dot but in a crazy uneven way. Makes the difference.

Maybe a false hope it is that this summer will be carefree but hope never dies... nor trying does ever stop.

Just like the circle that has no end and no beginning.

Recollecting last summer

Winter was really well behaved and treated us well. Scarcely did we have any cold days. Spring is here already and Summer is approaching. You can just feel it in your bones. Right now I can also feel the cold that I caught up for the 20th time this year, even though the weather was so nice. 

Nice, but sneaky. 

Ok, I may be over exaggerating about the number of times, 

but it was more than what I am used to.

Anyway, to cut it short, while waiting impatiently for the warm, light-clothes-wearing days, I recollect last year’s summertime...

I spent most of my summer days in the city. Mostly due to laziness and here you have the song that was humming in my head most of the time, while strolling through the city... 

 I had a perfect time actually, since we all Athenians know, that the best time to be in Athens is August!

This is a favorite one, TOP GUN!! (no need to guess what it sells..)

And to cut it more short, here's something that kept me 

busy between walking, exploring and swimming around...

I had this beautiful fabric for just too long a time unused. It is a favorite one as it is a birthday gift from my madrid-ean friends, so having free time I decided I had to do something with it... at last...!

And you know me, never leaving anything wasted...

Using the selvage instead of a bias trim, ha!

I just love and collect all the selvages from all the fabrics that come to my hands, first time of actually using it.
